>Discover Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, February 2-15, 2011. The Watercolor Workshop/Tour of a life time and in South America!! gail has been invited to teach a Workshop for this once-in-a-life-time experience. The same group who invited gail to teach the 'Explore Guatemala’ Workshop in 2008 are producing/directing this 2011 Workshop/Tour. We know these people very well. They are an outstanding organization and put on really great Workshops/Tours. Space is limited. This Workshop/Tour was announced on February 18th, and at this writing, July 8th, 21 (13 artist and 8 guest) have already sent in their deposits to reserve their spaces. How many of you, like gail and Ken, have the Galapagos Islands on your “Bucket List”. If you have questions call or e-mail gail or Ken. To reach gail and Ken, go to home page of this website and click on the 'Contact gail' box.

>Of Special Interest: Artists from 36 different states, including Alaska and Hawaii, The District of Columbia, Brazil, Canada, Guatemala, and the Philippines have come to workshops to study with gail. Attending a workshop with gail exposes you to very interesting artists. Just being with them is itself a learning experience! There are no nicer people in the world than artists!

Some of the thanks gail has received from the winners of grant money from the ‘Students and Friends of gail Mcdaniel Award’

Freedom Middle School, Franklin, visual arts teacher Linda Owens kiln broke down. There were no funds available to replace it. She submitted a grant request for an Award in 2008. Because of ‘The Award’, Linda received a grant of $1,800.00 to replace the broken kiln. The following is a letter I received from one of her students:

“Dear Ms. McDaniel, From one artist to another, I’d like to tell you thank you. I think that having an Art class of some kind in a school is very important. I am not very athletic, and not everyone is. With art I can express myself, and I feel that is very important to a lot of people. Thank you again for your support to our school. It means more than you can imagine. P.S. I love the service you provide. Keep up the great Work. You really do make dreams come true. Sincerely……”
