Workshop November 2019

Painting White on White in Watercolor

Learn to preserve and use the energy and sparkle of the white of your watercolor paper to achieve more glowing paintings. You will be using white subject matter against white subject matter. You will be learning techniques for applying transparent glazes of watercolor while allowing the whites of your watercolor paper to sparkle. You will be using the white of your watercolor paper to create layers of white on white, using white subject matter. Even toned whites on your watercolor paper can glow with a new energy. Learn to paint beautiful shadows that glow with a special energy of their own. Learn to paint folds and wrinkles in white fabrics, without using white paint or gauche. The white of your watercolor paper, and the whites in your paintings, will become a new and fun adventure for you!

Special Feature of this Workshop: You will be Painting White on White with Watercolor on both 140 cold press watercolor paper and on Masa Paper, also known as Rice Paper.
